Scientology Views on Silent Birth

I don't think I have included the information in this blog regarding the new official Scientology website on Silent Birth.

The quote is very cool;

“When children become unimportant to a society, that society has forfeited its future.”

By L. Ron Hubbard from the book Science of Survival

Scientology expands at home

Nice to see the St. Petersburg Times getting that right!

They quote Ben Shaw, Scientology spokesperson as saying: "Scientology also has undertaken a building spurt internationally, spending 'literally hundreds of millions of dollars' this year alone.

"In the past three years, the church has built churches in New York, Madrid, Johannesburg, South Africa, Buffalo, N.Y., San Francisco, Los Gatos, Calif., Mountain View, Calif., and Tampa. Last year, the church purchased buildings encompassing nearly 1-million square feet in 18 cities worldwide."

Scientologist Jenna Elfman

ABC.com has a photo story on famous Scientologists today with this photo of Jenna Elfman:

Their caption is: Actress Jenna Elfman of CBS' "Everything I Know About Men" has been a Scientologist since 1991.

Here's a success story from her on www.scientology.org:

"I didn’t know how to open the door to my goals and would have been fiddling with the lock for all these years had I not learned about Scientology. I now know that I truly am limitless. Scientology opened the door for me and I’ve walked through it to success."

Jenna is very active in programs at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre and in making L. Ron Hubbard's technology available to improve conditions in society, which she describes on this page of her personal web site.

She's very outspoken, beautiful and enormously talented.

Scientology Expansion

Over the past few years a number of beautiful new Scientology churches have opened. Many more are planned over the next year.

Mr. David Miscavige officiated at several of the church grand openings.

Some of Mr. Miscavige's speeches are online:

Mr. Miscavige's speech at the Grand Opening of the Church of Scientology of San Francisco
Mr. Miscavige's speech at the Grand Opening of the Church of Scientology of New York

More on Silent Birth - Church of Scientology International Statement

‘Silent Birth': Separating Reality From Myth, Church Of Scientology International

This article appeared today on the "Medical News Today" web site:

Main Category: Pregnancy News
Article Date: 20 Apr 2006 - 0:00am (PDT)

Los Angeles - Church of Scientology International responds to inquiries concerning the application of Dianetics and Scientology principles to child birth.

What is a silent birth?

Having a silent birth is all about providing the best possible environment for the birthing mother and her new baby.

It is labor and delivery done in a calm and loving environment and with no spoken words by everyone attending as much as possible. Chatty doctors and nurses, shouts to “PUSH, PUSH” and loud or laughing remarks to “encourage” are the types of things that are meant to be avoided.

As L. Ron Hubbard, Founder of Dianetics and Scientology, wrote, “Everyone must learn to say nothing within the expectant mother's hearing during labor and delivery.” And, “A woman who wants her child to have the best possible chance will find a doctor who will agree to keep quiet especially during the delivery, and who will insist upon silence being maintained in the hospital delivery room as far as it is humanly possible.”

Scientology Resource Directory

Here is something cool: Scientology Resource Directory

I just found it and I think it's a great resource for anyone new to the subject. Actually, I'm finding it pretty handy too!

This is Scientology - Presentation by Mr. David Miscavige

With so much interest in the Scientology religion these days, a very good way to find out more about it is to get a copy of the DVD called This is Scientology, which is a presentation by the Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center, Mr. David Miscavige.

Selections of this speech by Mr. Miscavige is also available online on the web site of Religious Technology Center.

Other excellent speeches by David Miscavige that are online are:

  • The Year 2000 New Years presentation, where Mr. Miscavige gives a concise overview of the last 50 years of Scientology history
  • A speech by Mr Miscavige at the Grand Opening of the Church of Scientology of San Francisco.
There is also good information available on the David Miscavige blogspot blog.

The Sears Sisters - Scientology Volunteer Ministers

This was a very cool story I saw on the Scientology Volunteer Minister website. Thought it was worth sharing.

"Sisters Alissa and Sarah Sears from Santa Barbara, California, are active Scientology Volunteer Ministers.
Within days of the devastating tsunami of December 2004 that left over 35,000 dead and 1,000,000 Sri Lankans homeless, the Sears arrived in the country to coordinate the work of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Disaster Relief team.

"For five months they worked with local and international Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, police, teachers, and business, religious and community leaders in Sri Lanka providing for the basic needs of the people in the region and bringing them the technology of L. Ron Hubbard to help them overcome the trauma and rebuild their lives.

"On leaving Sri Lanka, Sarah Sears joined the Scientology Volunteer Ministers South American Goodwill Tour in Brazil. She describes her experiences here.

Sarah’s Story:

"It was the realization of the impact we made to the lives of others while in Sri Lanka that inspired me to travel to Brazil where I worked with the Volunteer Minister Goodwill Tour for five months.
We met with community leaders and found that what concerns them most is the soaring rates of criminality and drug abuse, even amongst the children living on the streets. I was struck by how much these people care. They immediately saw the potential of L. Ron Hubbard’s technology to salvage the lives of the people within the region.

"As part of the Volunteer Ministers team in Brazil I helped train military police, civil defense personnel, teachers, directors of elderly homes and homeless shelters, and numerous others on basic communication skills, Scientology assists1, and L. Ron Hubbard study technology.

"These leaders are now using what they learned and it is a joy to me to see the positive effects this is having on peoples’ lives.

"L. Ron Hubbard said that 'A Volunteer Minister does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil, and injustice of existence. Rather, he is trained to handle these things and help others achieve relief from them and a new personal strength as well.'

"Through my experiences, both in Sri Lanka and in Brazil, I saw that the Volunteer Ministers motto is really true no matter how big or small the calamity, 'Something CAN be done about it.'"

Other tools used by the Volunteer Ministers can be seen on other sites like www.scientologyreligion.org.
