Information on Scientology

The online version of the reference book What is Scientology is an excellent source of information on Scientology. Scientology Today is a press site where you can find news releases and statistics and demographics about the Scientology religion, which is also useful.

However the best way to learn about Scientology is to read a book by L. Ron Hubbard. There are a two such books online. One is The Scientology Handbook and the other is Dianetics, the Evolution of a Science

If you are looking for some information that isn't published by the Church I recommend: The CESNUR Scientology Page (Center for the Study of New Religions) the Church of Scientology by Dr. J. Gordon Melton (excerpts from his book) Scientology Beliefs, Practices and Symbols from the Ontario Consultants on Religious Freedom

The Church of Scientology web site was recently redesigned using a simpler format. One the first page there is a very clear description of Scientology.

Discovering Scientology: The Dynamics of Money Course

If you don't have money and you live in a Western society at this time, then you're in trouble. Many people find the subject of money to be a big problem (the Pink Floyd song "Money" comes to mind). But if you want to be successful and happy in this world in its present form, then you have no choice but to gain an understanding of money. The Dynamics of Money Course applies Scientology to the subject and, because Scientology is the subject of knowing how to know, it answers such questions as "What is money?" "Why don't I have enough of it?" and "How can I live a happy life without giving 200% of my attention to money?"

This course does just that and in a way that can not only make work more easier, but more enjoyable too. I personally have used the tools from this course very successfully and I definitely have fun at my job.

Discovering Scientology: Financial Success Course

Perhaps financial success doesn't sound very religious, but Scientology is an applied religious philosophy and it can be applied to any area of life. Scientology is there to help people, and being poor is not a very happy state to be in. Understanding money and the handling of it can make a person's life better, therefore there is a basic Scientology course covering the subject which I've found extremely helpful in handling my own financial concerns. My personal income has increased steadily over the years, having doubled in the last 10 years alone. I recently hit a ceiling in my present activities and have begun applying the data of this course to break through. After only a couple of weeks, things have started to happen and tomorrow I fly across the country to several meetings, meetings that a month ago were not even a glimmer of a possibility. Anyway, you can read about the course here: Financial Success Course

Well, I think I've managed to apply the data from this course very successfully. My wife and I are even better friends and more in love than when we first got married. The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR)

July 4th is a day to celebrate freedom and human rights. The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to restore human rights to the field of mental health. They do this by ensuring that criminal abuses are speedily investigated and prosecuted so that people's rights are legally protected. We need that in these days of vast overprescription of psychiatric drugs and abuse of patients, so I've gotten together links to pages covering the subject:

Discovering Scientology: How to Be a Successful Parent Course

Is it okay to boast about your own kids? After all, as a parent, you had something to do with how they turned out. Well, whether it's okay or not I'm going to say that my kids are awesome. They are grown up and living happy and successful lives and I attribute it all to my own brilliance ,,, just kidding. When they were growing up, my wife and I applied the data from the How to Be a Successful Parent Course and it worked. When I hear people talking about the hell of the "teenage" years and the "rebellious years" and other such cliches I honestly have no idea what they are talking about, because my kids never went through any of that. They were not angels, they were normal kids, but my wife and I had to tools to make their growing up a pleasure for them and for us.

Discovering Scientology: How to Improve Conditions in Life Course

Improving conditions is what Scientology is all about. I think everyone realizes that the conditions in their life could improve. In fact a basic truth discovered in Scientology is that things either get better or they get worse, nothing stays the same. I've used the data in the How to Improve Conditions in Life Course to help myself and others to turn around bad situations, to improve conditions that were just okay and to maintain improvements.

Discovering Scientology: Personal Values and Integrity Course

For years we've heard talk about "self-esteem" but the people who talk about it never provide workable methods of achieving true self-esteem. Self-esteem is strongly tied to personal integrity and when you lose your personal integrity, you have lost one of the most important things an individual has.

The Personal Values and Integrity Course gives you knowledge on what personal integrity is and then gives you tools to increase or repair your own. It's a great course. I did it many years ago and it caused some very positive changes in, not only my life, but also in the way I viewed and lived life. I've been much happier since.

L. Ron Hubbard on "What is Greatness?"

L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, was a man of great compassion who had tremendous faith in mankind. He demonstrated this in much of his writing but probably nowhere more than in the article "What is Greatness?" in which he said, "To love in spite of all is the secret of greatness. And may very well be the greatest secret in this universe." The entire article can be read here: What is Greatness?

The Way To Happiness

Although the book "The Way To Happiness" is not a religious publication, Scientologists use the precepts (rules) in the book to help them live better lives and help their fellow man. The book is amazingly effective in helping people get along. Just look at this quote from Mr. Gregory L. Smith, Director of Partnership Management, National Headquarters of the American Red Cross: "Both Muslim and Christian participants agreed that The Way to Happiness could facilitate the realization of peace between warring factions." It's not often that you see something like that!

The Way To Happiness Foundation distributes the book throughout the world. It's goal is to restore honesty and trust through the use of the common sense moral code contained in the book.

Right now you can get a free eBook version of The Way To Happiness book so click the link, download and read!

What Scientology Can Do: Communication & Lasting Relationships

If you want to improve your life in the area of getting along with others and forming lasting relationships then I highly recommend the Success Through Communication Course. It was the first course I did in Scientology and, apart from being an excellent introduction to the subject, it made a huge difference in my life. I became much more out going and was able to get along much better with others. I've used the skills I learned to improve my situation at work, to help friends through difficulties and much more besides.

Scientology Basics: The Factors

Between 1923 and 1953, L. Ron Hubbard did a tremendous amount of research into the spiritual nature of man. In 1953 he published a summation of this examination, which he called "The Scientology Factors". At first glance one may feel they only apply to perhaps the creation of the universe or something equally rarefied, but on closer examination you can see how they can apply to everyday things such as buying a car. For example, taking a look at Factor 1: Before the beginning was a Cause and the entire purpose of the Cause was the creation of effect. Before going to buy a car (before the beginning) one should figure out what effects he intends to create with the car. Do you want to impress your peers or do you want to protect the environment? Working this out before the beginning means that you know your goal and can then be successful in achieving it. Without applying Factor 1 you could end up buying a lemon.

Scientology Basics: The Scientology Axioms

Scientology is a religious philosophy. Most people in the western world don't really know what a religious philosophy is. To most westerners a religion means you believe in God and you carry out some form of worship because that is what they see others doing or it's what they do themselves. A religious philosophy on the other hand is a body of knowledge about the spiritual nature of man that one studies and then uses in his everyday life. That is what Scientology is and one of the basic pieces of wisdom used in Scientology is the "Scientology Axioms". The axioms are concise statements of basic truths about the nature of the human spirit. For example, the question "What is communication?" is answered in Axiom 28.

The Scientology Axioms are available for you to study on the Internet: Scientology Axioms

Applied Scholastics -

The Solution in the Field of Education

It amazes me sometimes how people manage to keep up in our modern society, but then I take a closer look and I see that despite the cell phones on every ear and the programmable TVOs in so many front rooms, most people aren't.

For example, my wife recently advertised for a receptionist at the company she works. She got over 200 applications. 200 people applying for a receptionist position at $10 an hour seemed like a great opportunity to get a high quality person, but out of that 200 there were only 5 who met the literacy and other standards needed for such a position. This is what our educational system producing, semi-literate people who can't even qualify to be a receptionist. I'd say our educators needed some help.

Well that's what Applied Scholastics is all about - help for educators and anyone who wants to learn anything. Here are some links to give you more data:

I hope those give you some helpful ideas.

Scientology is Knowledge

On L. Ron Hubbard's birthday this year 18 sets of his lectures were released on CD. They cover everything from human problems to a being's basic purpose. They are probably not 100% suitable for people who don't have some familiarity already with Scientology but for anyone who knows even a little they are a wonderful source of knowledge for living a successful life.

I got them and have been listening to them and the data is mind-blowing! I highly recommend them. You can read all about them here: L. Ron Hubbard Congress Lectures, or you can visit your local Church of Scientology and see audio-visual presentations of what is in each set.

CESNUR on Scientology

The CESNUR Center for Studies on New Religions presents information on the Scientoogy religion. A number of religious experts have done in depth studies and have come and observed the activities of the Churches of Scientology.

One of these religious experts, J. Gordon Melton, wrote a book on the subject entitled The Church of Scientology (Studies in Contemporary Religions). I found a lot of information about this book, if you take a look at the last link. This is actually an extract from the book.

Its an interesting view.
